Two Day Competitive Action Pistol

Two Day Competitive Action Pistol Class (formerly PRO-Formance Pistol) at Point Blank Range is a competitive based training program geared towards the competitive action shooter and those interested in getting started in the fun and exciting sport of action shooting. This course starts with a brief lecture period to get the student a solid foundation in fundamental marksmanship and how it applies in the fast-paced action shooting sports. Competitive Action Pistol Class is designed to do exactly what it says, increase performance in all areas from building speed, increasing accuracy, drawing from the holster, movement from one position to another, moving while shooting and multiple target engagements with efficiency. This two day course will adapt to each individual shooter, students will understand not only the “how” but also the “why” behind everything they learn in this course and will be able to apply the methods taught to any action pistol discipline, from NRA Action to IDPA to USPSA. Students should expect to encounter challenging yet thought provoking drills and concepts as well as reinforcement of proper fundamentals. Students should expect to see immediate improvement in the skills after each day.

 

Required Equipment:

• • OWB holster (Outside the waistband holster), kydex or leather only. No nylon or inside the waistband holsters.

• • Semi auto Handgun or Revolver (9mm caliber or higher) Rail or slide mounted optics are welcome and encouraged for the competitive shooter

• • At a minimum one extra magazine, magazine pocket or speed-loader with pouch

• • 700rds of ammo

• • Pen & paper

• Positive attitude & open mind

• • Proper drawstroke mechanics to improve efficiency

• • The 2 Fundamental principles of accuracy

• • Balance of speed & precision

• • Long range & extreme precision accuracy up to 25 yards

• • Trigger control diagnostics & dry fire

• • Timed drills to incorporate stress

• • Multiple target transitions

• • Speed reloads

• • The pipe concept

• • Moving and shooting

• Learning how to let the eyes drive the gun
