Motorsports Team Challenge Spring Recoil Series
Point Blank Range, Lake Norman’s premier, NSSF Five Star Rated, indoor shooting facility and proud host of the Motorsports Team Challenge, is now organizing its 3rd competition – the Spring Recoil Series! The Motorsports Team Challenge is team shooting competition for race teams currently competing in a recognized professional motorsports series. This fast paced steel plate match will put your skills and teamwork to the test. This season we will also be introducing paper and a combined team event with great prizes from our good friends and sponsor, Smith & Wesson!
The competition will consist of five matches scheduled during the month of April with the Grand Finale on May 1st. Matches will be held on Wednesday evenings, from 6:30 PM to 9:30 PM.
Match Dates: April 3rd, April 10th, April 17th, April 24th and May 1st.
- Each team will consist of 3 members. With the option for up to 3 designated alternates.
- Each team member must compete in at least one match during the event.
- Each team member must be employed by the team they represent.
- Each team member must be at least 21 years of age.
Each match will require use of a mystery firearm supplied by Point Blank Range. Before the start of the match, each team will designate a team member who will shoot this firearm instead of their own handgun for that match. The mystery firearm will be revealed only after all teams have declared their mystery shooter for that evening. Otherwise, each team member may shoot their personal firearm or rent one from Point Blank Range. This match is limited to iron sights only, no optics or electronic sighting systems may be used.
Prizes and Trophy Cup will be awarded at the Grand Finale to the individual and team with the lowest overall time (after penalties) in the series. The team with the lowest accumulated total time (after penalties) will be the overall winner, prizes compliments of Smith & Wesson. The winning team well will have their names placed on a trophy to be kept at Point Blank Range until the next opportunity arrives to take the cup.
Deadline for registration is March 28th 2013
The entry fee per team is $300, which must be paid before the registration deadline. In an effort to make sure each team will be contending with the same recoil. Each team will be required to use the same ammunition in the competition, which must be purchased from Point Blank Range.
Rules and further details will be made available to participants after receipt of team registration forms and fees.
Participation is limited. It is recommended that interested teams respond immediately to reserve your place in this one-of-a-kind event.
