Using the Range
A daily rate of $18.00 allows you to stay and shoot as long as you want through the end of the business day, provided others are not waiting to shoot. If others are waiting to shoot, we ask that you limit your time in the range to 45 minutes. You can then put your name on the waiting list and go back for another 45 minutes when a lane is available. You can also leave and come back at a later time. Monthly, Semi-annual and Annual Range Members and Patriot Gun Club Members have unlimited use of the range with no range fees as part of their membership, subject to the same 45 minute limitation if others are waiting.
The range is open to the public during normal business hours. You can come as often as you like and pay the daily fee. You don’t have to purchase a range membership, but that is the most cost effective way to use the range if you plan to come often.
It is difficult to predict what the wait might be at any given time. We have 15 lanes and the time limit is 60 minutes if others are waiting. Browse our retail pro shop, or watch the programming on our video monitors to entertain you while you wait. We plan to implement a reservation system for Members in the near future. Members will always have priority over daily rate shooters.
Not now, but we hope to have a reservations system for members soon after we open.
We encourage you to bring your friends and provide Annual Members and Patriot Gun Club Members with guest passes to allow you to bring your friends at no charge. Additional shooters may accompany you in the range with payment of the $18.00 daily range fee. There is no charge to watch from our viewing area.
Yes, up to three persons may share a shooting booth/lane. Each person entering the range is required to go through the safety orientation and pay the daily range fee, regardless of whether they plan to shoot. Anyone that will not be shooting is welcome to watch from our viewing area.
Safety is our 1st priority. On their first visit, each shooter is required to view a safety video and complete a brief orientation with a Range Safety Officer. We have numerous reminders posted throughout the facility to remind visitors and shooters of our rules. Our Range Rules are designed to keep everyone safe. Please see a copy of our Range Rules here. A Range Safety Officer will be on duty at all times during normal business hours.
Point Blank Range has been designed from the ground up to be family friendly and we strongly encourage family memberships. In addition to catering to families, our training courses include female-only training, where preferred, and courses tailored to our female members in terms of personal safety.
Children under 8 years of age are not permitted in the range, but can watch from the viewing area. All persons between the ages of 8 and 20 must be accompanied in the range by an adult and a waiver of liability signed by the shooter’s parent or legal guardian. All children between the ages of 8 and 16 must be accompanied and directly supervised in the shooting booth by a parent or legal guardian.
Handguns, including revolvers and semi-automatics of all calibers; Shotguns with slugs only; Rifles up to and including .308 caliber; Full-automatic firearms.
We encourage the use of factory new ammunition. Ammunition specifically disallowed includes tracers, armor piercing rounds and any ammunition with steel or aluminum cases.
You can always bring your own ammunition, provided it is of a type not specifically disallowed. Members will receive special pricing on range ammo, and we encourage you to check out our prices. Only ammunition purchased from Point Blank Range can be used in any rental firearm, which is required under the manufacturer’s warranty.
You are allowed to pick up your brass at the conclusion of your shooting session when all firearms are cased. At no time is a shooter allowed to reach across the firing line or extend any object across the firing line to retrieve brass for any other reason.
Yes, up to and including .308 caliber.
Yes, with slugs only please.
Yes. You will need to take a holster safety and qualification training class to be certified to draw from the holster in the range. Once certified, you will be allowed to draw from the holster. This privilege may be removed by the Range Safety Officer should any unsafe practice be observed.
Yes, in fact, you may shoot full-auto firearms in the range.
We have a broad selection of rental firearms and encourage you to try our rental guns before you buy!
The range has a separate state-of-the-art climate controlled ventilation system for each bay that moves air from behind the shooter and down range to make sure the gas and particulates from your firearm are always moving away from you as you shoot.
Eye and ear protection are available at no charge for members and at a small additional charge for daily fee shooters.
You can bring your own fully automatic weapons to shoot in the range. Fully automatic weapons will also be available for rent for use in the range.
All Point Blank Range staff are required to complete the NRA Range Safety Officer course. A Range Safety Officer is on duty at all times during normal business hours.
We have 15 shooting lanes, each 25 yards long. The 25 yard lanes are ideal for pistol practice, as well as tactical shotgun and tactical rifle training and practice.
Our target retrieval system is manufactured by Patriot Range Technologies, and has been used at the NRA Headquarters Range in Fairfax, Virginia, as well as many other commercial, military and law enforcement ranges across the country and around the world. This state-of-the-art target retrieval system allows the shooter to place the target at any distance in one foot increments from 3 to 75 feet. The 360° turning target carrier can turn front to back to on-edge and can be programmed to execute any course of fire that can be conceived. We have pre-programmed several courses of fire used by law enforcement agencies in their training, which challenge the shooter with shoot/no shoot scenarios. The targeting system can be programmed and executed at the shooting booth or from our master control console. The programmable features of the target system are available to annual and Patriot Gun Club Members at no additional charge, and to daily fee shooters for a small additional charge.
Yes, both bays of our range are designed for full downrange use. The ceiling of the entire range has been constructed with engineered concrete panels that will prevent any projectiles from leaving the range. Either bay can be used for tactical training and IPSC (International Practical Shooting Confederation) and IDPA (International Defensive Pistol Association) competitions.
Yes, we have leagues. Please let us know if you are interested in participating in a league and what type of league would interest you. Send your inquiries to mdenney@pointblankrange.com.
It is our intent to have IDPA and IPSC sanctioned leagues and events at Point Blank Range.
