Don’t let the name fool you, this class is not just for beginners. The 1911 – 101 Class was designed specifically for the 1911 Shooter of any skill level from beginner to master, from any discipline of shooting, from concealed to open carry, from plinking on the range to the most serious of competitors.

This 2 day in-depth course will not only discuss the history of the 1911, but also cover the fundamentals of shooting this classic and world-renowned firearm platform with practical application on the range with 12 Time NRA National Pistol Champion Brian “Gunny” Zins.

As a special bonus to this course, K.C. Crawford of KC’s Kustom Creations, LLC will be on hand to explain proper care, cleaning, maintenance as well as some do’s and don’ts for do it yourself modifications as well professional armorer modifications for specific 1911 applications.  KC will also take questions and depending on the work, either work on your gun this weekend or make arrangements for lengthier gunsmithing needs. So bring one 1911, a couple or bring all your 1911’s and see what KC can do for you.

  • 2 handed, 1 handed strong hand and weak hand
  • Aiming and trigger control
  • Drawing from the holster
  • Proper loading of a 1911
  • Reloading
  • Timed Drills
  • Malfunction Clearing
  • Multiple target engagements

We will finish the second day with a friendly and challenging competition.

Required Equipment:

  • 1911 Pistol of any make and centerfire caliber (.45 is God’s caliber)
  • 2 magazines (minimum) spare magazine pocket
  • 500 Rounds
  • A quality Outside the Waistband Holster (leather or Kydex)

Class includes a coffee table worthy book about the history of the 1911.
Pre-requisite:  There is NO Pre-requisite for this class other than a thirst for knowledge about the history of this iconic American Classic Handgun and how to shoot it
