A recent transplant from California, Bob moved to Cornelius after spending the previous 25-years as a Police Officer and Detective in the Los Angeles Metropolitan area.  As a detective assigned to the police department’s Violent Crimes Unit, Bob’s experience investigating homicides, officer involved shootings, and other gun-related crimes and incidents, plus his experience as a police rangemaster brings a unique perspective to the training staff.  Prior to becoming a civilian police officer, Bob served in the United States Army as a Military Policeman and Military Police Investigator, and received specialized marksmanship training from the XVIII Airborne Corps Pistol Team and the U.S. Army Marksmanship Training Unit.

Bob’s passion is NRA Conventional Pistol Shooting, commonly referred to as “Bullseye Shooting,” and has competed in the National Pistol Matches at Camp Perry, Ohio.  As such, his favorite guns tend to be specialized target pistols, such as his Hammerli 208, Feinwerkbau AW93, and Les Baer CMP-Hardball 1911.

When he’s not at Point Blank Range, Bob and his wife Barbara spend their time traveling throughout the Southeast or visiting their three grown daughters.  Bob is also an avid aviation enthusiast and possesses a Bachelor of Science Degree in Aviation Management from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale and a private pilot’s certificate.
